ÈWÀ OLÓYIN: Honey Beans

ÈWÀ OLÓYIN: Honey Beans

Edun went on a mission to a remote village, Isokun. Unfortunately, his host had embarked on an impromptu journey to an entirely strange land, thus, Edun became stranded. All his pleas fell on his host’s deaf ears for shelter till his friend would be back from his trip. He prayed to God for succour, and his steps were ordered. A couple took him in to spend the night in their hut.

Amope, and her husband, Lanleyin shared the only plate of cooked Oruku, which was harvested from Lanleyin’s farm. Edun enjoyed the meal, as he had never had a taste of such species of Oruku.

Edun turned the couple’s village to his, stayed with them forever, blessed the couple with a set of twins and made them prosper in the land of Isokun. This was as a result of the couple’s special species of beans, Ewa Oloyin, otheriwse called Honey Beans, which enticed Edun.

Èwà Olóyin is a special specie of African Brown beans – Phaseolus Vulgaris, a family member of plants referred to as legumes. Very rich in protein, dietary fibre, blood building iron, folic acid, vitamins B6 & B1 and very low in fat. Also called Honey Beans, because of its unique taste and sweetness.
